Fokuno and your Google Calendar
Fokuno plans into your calendar, not next to it. The blocks are normal events that you also see on your phone.
What Fokuno does in your calendar
Fokuno plans into your Google Calendar. Every five minutes it checks what is in the calendar, what is done and what is still missing. From that it calculates a plan for the next six weeks and changes in the calendar only what differs from it.
- Read. Fokuno sees the title, time and place of your events, so it knows when you are free.
- Write. It creates focus blocks as events, and moves and deletes them when the plan changes. It recognises its own blocks by a marker in the event.
- Leave alone. Fokuno changes other events only when you do it in Fokuno yourself, for example by moving an event in the calendar view.

Which permissions Fokuno asks Google for
| Permission | What for |
|---|---|
| View and edit events | Find free time, create its own blocks, move and delete them. |
| View the list of your calendars | Show names and colours so you can choose which ones take up time and where the blocks go. |
| View your email address | Show which Google account is connected. |
The data is not sold, not used for advertising and not used to train AI models. You can withdraw access at any time in Fokuno or in your Google account. The blocks already in your calendar stay there until you delete them. More in the privacy policy.
Several calendars
For each Google calendar you decide whether its events take up time and which calendar the blocks go into. A calendar with birthdays shouldn’t block anything, your timetable should. If you explicitly set a calendar to “schedule”, Fokuno gives all-day entries in it a time of day.
Outlook, Apple and files
Calendars from Outlook or Apple work if you add them to Google Calendar. Events from .ics files, for example a school timetable, you can import directly.
On your phone
Because the blocks are normal events in Google Calendar, you also see them in the calendar app on your phone. So that phone and web show the same day, a copy of your events from yesterday to three weeks ahead is kept on a server in Zurich.
